How to backup a database

1. In your welcome email find the address of your SQL server, prepend "backup." to the address and remove ",8484" from the end, eg "sql3.expeed.com.au,8484" becomes "backup.sql3.expeed.com.au". Go to this address in your web browser, a page will load like the one shown below, prompting you to log in to the backup system. Use the details that were created in DotNetPanel for your database.

2. Once you have logged in the page will look like below. Select Backup databases from the list on the left.

3. Follow the steps shown on the page to backup your database. Select the database you want backed up, check and confirm you have selected the correct one, name the backup, and click Backup to begin the actual backup process. This may take some time depending on the size of your database.

4. Once the backup is complete you can download the backup to your local computer by clicking on the link provided.
