How to schedule an automatic backup of a database

1. Login to DotNetPanel using the login information in your welcome email.

2. Click on your hosting space to get to the hosting space ("Bronze Hosting" in the example below).

3. Select Scheduled Tasks from the list on the left.

4. Click Add Scheduled Task.

5. Enter a name for the task and change Task Type to Backup Database. This will change the page to allow relevant information to be entered, as exampled below. You must know the name of the database you are backing up and the type of server it is running on. For most people this will be SQL Server 2008. Please note the scheduler runs in Canberra and so is running on Canberra local time. Click save to commit the task and to complete the procedure.
